Emma Howard
Emma Howard was admitted to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory as a solicitor on 15 August 2008. She started her legal career in Canberra as a solicitor specialising in family law. In 2010 Emma took a break from law and spent a period of time exploring her passion for other cultures by travelling through Europe, Asia and the Americas. She then spent a period of time living overseas, where she also completed a Master’s Degree in Social Change and Development. After travelling the world she decided there is no better place to live than the beautiful Macleay Valley.
Since joining Sheridan legal in March 2015 Emma has expanded her legal experience to include conveyancing, wills and estates and local court work. She is excited by the opportunity to practice law in Kempsey and South West Rocks. Emma currently welcomes clients seeking representation in all areas of law, however she has a special interest in both family law and criminal law.
Emma regularly appears in Kempsey Local Court representing clients on a variety of cases including AVO matters, drink driving and more serious criminal charges.
In family law matters Emma takes a pragmatic approach to helping clients. She works with clients to provide practical advice and achieve positive outcomes. She assists clients to navigate difficult disputes through negotiation, mediation and when necessary, litigation. Emma regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court if Australia to obtain both property and parenting orders.
